Guadalupe A. Cesar Nunez, LMFT

Hi, I’m Guadalupe

I am a bilingual therapist and the founder of Enjoying The Present Counseling Services Inc. My journey to becoming a therapist has been shaped by resilience, cultural diversity, and a deep commitment to helping others heal.

I was born and raised in Mexico City in a family that valued perseverance. I overcame significant challenges—including surviving a severe burn accident and experiencing bullying. Through the unwavering support of my family, I learned to embrace my pain, develop self-love, and pursue my dreams. At 18, I became bilingual and earned a scholarship to one of Mexico’s top universities, ITESM. While working multiple jobs to fund my education, I found my passion for advocacy, volunteering for burn survivors, and supporting marginalized communities.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the corporate business world, founded an international flower delivery company, and navigated the complexities of life as an immigrant and single mother in the U.S. These experiences deepened my understanding of stress, self-doubt, and the emotional toll of balancing multiple roles. In 2015, I shifted my career to mental health, providing therapy to individuals facing depression and anxiety.

In 2020, I opened my private practice, Hispanic Therapist, and then founded Enjoying The Present Counseling Services Inc., a group practice with locations in Pasadena and La Cañada that’s dedicated to honoring individuality and culture in therapy. In 2022, I launched Emotio - Mood Tracker, a bilingual app for emotional wellness, and have served as an adjunct professor and published writer.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, I will consider my mission fulfilled when I can say:

"To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because I have lived. This is to have succeeded."
